New information visualizations and data connectors in Panopticon 5.7
Panopticon has continued its development efforts in order to add even more value to its visual data analytics products. Our 5.7 release includes important updates and enhancements for all three of our products:
- Panopticon EX enterprise application
- Panopticon Rapid Development Kit
- Panopticon SDK for Java and .NET
Our data handling capabilities have been improved with the addition of:
- New JMS Message bus connector for Apache ActiveMQ.
- New Advanced Message Queuing Protocol connector for Apache QPID.
- New CEP connector supporting both Sybase Aleri Streaming Platform and Coral8 CEP engines.
- New Unpivot data transformation operation.
- Ability to display real-time streaming data and calculations in time series graphs along with all other visualizations.
- Ranking on supplied and calculated fields for display and screening.
We have added several new data visualization tools including:
- Spread Graph that allows you to analyze the spread between two series across time. The Spread Graph is ideal for examining yields against benchmark rates and instrument price performance against appropriate indices.
- Shapes visualization for displaying SVG path-based displays including but not limited to choropleth maps (commonly used to display election results and demographic data).
- Numeric Needle Graph that allows you to analyze price and maturity distributions.
- Major enhancements to the Line Graph to support interpolation selection plus new line and dot styles.
- Ability to overlay reference lines on constant or data driven time series visualizations. For example, the system now allows you to display banding and moving averages in time series graphs of financial data.
We have also enhanced Panopticon's reporting capabilities to include parameterized reporting to PDF, email and printer as well as template-based reporting.
Peter Simpson, our SVP of Research and Development, was intimately involved in designing these improvements. He presents an overview of all the new features in the 5.7 release and demonstrates how these new features can be used in a variety of financial and industrial applications.
